Laxachusetts Lacrosse Program Celebrates 10 Years
The Laxachusetts Lacrosse Program celebrated our 10th season at the end of July 2016. The program was started in the 2006/2007 season under the Emass Jr Minutemen name. In 2010 Laxachusetts Lacrosse, which was operated by Mike Connelly, Tim Shea and Brendan Glass, partnered with Emass Jr Minutemen, which was operated by Dan Chouinard, Sean Morris and David Evans. The merger brought together the two most dynamic programs in the State together.
Unlike other mergers that take place in the club lacrosse world, the purpose of our merger had nothing to do with creating a "SUPER CLUB" or "GROWING BUSINESS MODEL". It had everything to do with creating the best program for our players.
We knew that if we brought together our programs, it would create something that could not be duplicated in our region in club lacrosse. We are very blessed and thankful for all of the support over the years we have received from town programs, high school programs, parents and players. We would not have this success if it was not for the support, dedication and commitment from all of our families and coaches.
We were formed because there was no offering out there for Massachusetts student athletes that focused correctly on lacrosse development and the proper NCAA exposure, while emphasizing character based growth. A lot has changed in the past 10 years on the Massachusetts lacrosse landscape. But Laxachusetts has refined our methods and madness in that time and we are more relevant and more effective than we were when we started out.
Off season skill development was first introduced by us, but the content we provide now is more important than ever before. We continue to tweak our model to make sure it evolves with the game. And those tweaks keep us at the top in terms of skill development and lax IQ. It is great that so many kids have sticks in their hands year round now in Massachusetts, but training amongst the best while being drilled by the most knowledgeable truly makes a difference.
And that difference shows up in the level of play our players are achieving, the level of coaching we provide and the networking and knowledge we have with the college recruiting process.
Here are some of the top highlights of our program in the past 10 years
