Recruiting Roundup:

Geoff Shannon

December 7th, 2010

Our Tuesday morning Recruiting Roundup, and specifically the Forums.InsideLacrosse.com 2012 verbal commitment update, sparked a flood of followup verbal commitment news, some as fresh as this afternoon as well as older news that we were able to finally confirm either in-house or through other news sources. Today's report is so big I'm going to have to split it up into regions just to follow the information.

Also, all these updates will be made to our 2012 Big Board on Forums.InsideLacrosse.com. With so many kids verbally committed, it's almost time to breakdown the analitics of this group. On to the recruits:

New England

Inside Lacrosse No. 31 Young Gun Junior Greg Stamatov, Goalie, Foxborough (Mass.) has verbally committed to Villanova. Stamatov played for the New England Select Lacrosse League and partcipated in Jake Reed's Nike Blue Chip . Check out more with Stamatov in our Prep Files interview with him.

John Brainard, Midfield, New Canaan, Conn. has verbally committed to UMass.

Members of the Laxachusetts Minutemen have been busy this verbal commitment period. They have a tremendous 2012 class that we'll look at a bit more in-depth come the high school season. Among the most recent news:

Inside Lacrosse No. 40 Young Gun Junior Henry West, Midfield, Darien (Conn.) verbally committed to Cornell. West, who played with both Laxachusetts and the Connecticut Chargers, scored 30 goals and 24 assists last spring. He also considered Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Penn State.

Jay McDermott, Defense, Duxbury (Mass.) has verbally committed to Syracuse. He was Laxachusetts 12th DI commit so far in the class of 2012.

Kurt Hunzinger, Midfield, Masconomet HS (Mass.) has verbally committed to UMass. A 6-3, 210-pound recruit, Hunzinger is also a talented football player.

Cabot Noyce, Attack, Xaverian Brothers (Mass.) has verbally committed to High Point, DI's newest program. Noyce is a member of the the Laxachusetts program. As far I've seen reported, Noyce is the the first 2012 recruit for coach Torpey and High Point.

Connor Darcey, Goalie, Wellesley (Mass.) verbally committed to Penn State. A 6-0, 185-pound netminder for Laxachusetts, Darcey decided on Penn State after looking at Princeton, UNC, Duke Hopkins, Fairfield, Delaware and High Point.
