Emass Minutemen Teams Have Fantastic Showing at First Recruiting Event of the 2009-2010 Season

Harvard University Recruiting Showcase

The EMass Minutemen teams showed the college coaches and fans in attendance yesterday at Harvard University why they are one of the top programs in MA.

Our 2012 and 2011 teams had a combined record of 7-0-1 with wins over NH Tomahwks, Raptors, Rising Clams, Mass Elite and IAS.

The 2011 team had solid wins over IAS 6-4, LI Wolves 10 -3,  Mass Elite 10-5, and an always physical match with the Raptors Green 6-6.

The 2012 team had a tough match up right out of the gate and came up with a strong win over NH Tomahawks Black, had a tough game against a physical and talented Raptors Black team 4-2, defeated the IAS team and finished off an outstanding day with  a convincing win over the Rising Clams 6-3 ending the day at 4-0.

Our 2010 team with a very short bench, played hard but had trouble finding the back of the net and went 1-3 on the day playing the top older teams from NESLL, Big Dawgs, and Tomahawks. The 2010 were able to come together and get the win over a strong LI Sting team.

The 2013 teams played amazing considering this is the first recruiting event for this young rising sophomore group. The team went 2-2 for the day and only lost by 2 and 3 goals when playing against rising senior and senior aged teams which physically caused mismatches. Great way for these young players to get a feel for the recruiting events and where they need to be in a few years as players. The 2013 team had great competition all day with a win over NH Tomahawks White, and close losses to NH Tomahwks Black and Raptors Black. Finishing off the day with a win over IAS.

The 2007/2008 Emass JRM U13 and U15 players had an amazing opportunity to come together one last time before the 2008/2009 tryouts and play at the Boston Garden on Boston Blazer's Day and the NLL draft weekend.

The boys were able to showcase their skills on the new Blazer's turf indoor field in the Garden in front of family and friends.

All player's were able to meet with Boston Blazer's players prior to the game and Boston Blazer's Assistant Coach Randy Frasier even stopped in to the locker room to talk with the boys and thank the boys for attending the Blazer's Day.

Duxbury Clipper Article -

The EMass Junior Minutemen U-19 team had the great opportunity to play a game versus the German National U-19 Team on Saturday evening at The Governor's Academy in Byfield. The Junior Minutemen team turned in a terrific performance downing the German Team 21-5 in the evening game played under International Rules.
The German National Team was in town preparing for the upcoming U-19 World Championships in Canada, set to start in the coming weeks. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Germans to square off against top talent from the South Shore area of Massachusetts.
The EMass Junior Minutemen squad was made up of top senior players from various South Shore towns. Leading the way on offense were attackmen Scott Austin-Duxbury, Mark Flibotte-Cohasset, Chris Walker-Marshfield and Mike Grimm-Cohasset.
These four are considered among the top attackmen in the state. On defense the Minutemen were led by Ryan Woodford-Scituate, Mike Donoghue-Barnstable, Chris Yuknis-Scituate, DJ O'Brien-Archbishop Williams and Dom D'Allessandro from Weymouth. This defensive unit fronted top South Shore goalies Max Vaikus-Hingham and Matt Bak-Marshfield who split time between the pipes and held the German team to five goals in the extended international rules game.
The EMass midfielders really controlled the pace and tone of the game against the athletic German Team. Taking the majority of the face-offs for the EMass team was Charlie Czerkawski-Cohasset who had a dominant day at the face-off X.
Other midfielders on the squad who had great performances were Austin Driscoll-Hingham, Grant Marston-Duxbury, Mike Balaschi-BC High, Brian Magner-Thayer, Jeff MacCune-Thayer, Tyler Sabens-Falmouth and Peter Jennings-Wellesley.
The EMass Junior Minutemen U-19 Team are part of the EMass Junior Minutemen Lacrosse program that offers training, clinics and select level play at all levels. The EMass U-19 team is coached by Rick Peterson from Marshfield who was joined by Coaches Stew Curran from Cohasset and Kevin Orcutt from Quincy.
