Below are the details for the Laxachusetts Youth Spring League that begins in April 2024. This is an optional program that we started 12 years ago with the intention of increasing the Lacrosse IQ level of our players.

Our Winter Indoor Skills time has been incredibly successful in improving players' stick skills. However, we felt that our players were still lacking in their understanding of how to play the game at a higher level.  In order to help the players apply the skills they developed in the Winter into their actual play, we developed the Spring League.

We felt that the only way we could bring the level of play higher was to be coaching them on the field - outdoors. It is on the field where we can help them translate the knowledge and skills they acquire in the winter (and other programs throughout the year) into their actual play.

If you are new to the Laxachusetts program, you might be inclined to think that your son already plays for a strong town program. You might also question at how much of a higher level do the boys need to play? We can tell you that in order to bring your play to the highest level, you need the coaching and the competition. We offer that!

We seek out the absolute toughest tournaments in the country and we compete against clubs like LI Express (NY), Team 91 (NY), HHH (PA), Crabs (MD), Leading Edge (NJ), West Coast Starz (CA) and others, there is no higher level in the country.

Almost all of the players in these clubs play year round now (not playing with their town teams). We need to make sure our players are prepared to compete against the highest level of competition in the country.

The Spring program has been a tremendous success (we had 95% of the youth players in our program participate in the last 12 seasons). The proof that we have improved the Lacrosse IQ of our players and their ability to translate their skills into successful field play has been demonstrated in our incredible performance during the Summer Tournament season (and in our incredibly impressive college commits each year).

As we always do in Laxachusetts, we try and improve our model each year to make sure we are offering our players the best in development.  We feel that this Spring league provides the next level of support to facilitate higher level play.

Specifics About the Spring League:

  • As a staff, we knew we needed more practice time with our players and time to teach them, as a team, how to effectively complete rides, clears, slow breaks, fast breaks, run an offense and play team defense.
  • During the Spring league games, we have multiple coaches on the field directing and coaching the players. We try to teach and reinforce these valuable skills as much as we can during the games.
  • However, we know that it is difficult for players to grasp everything during live game play. We therefore built in an additional practice element to the Spring program so that we can properly teach all of the ins and outs of riding, clearing, slow breaks, fast breaks, and offensive/defensive situations in a more controlled situations.

  • Cost of the Program:
The cost will be $595.00 per player and that will cover all the Games, Practices, Skill Sessions, Tourneys, Coaches, Referees, Fields Rentals, etc...

Goalies are free
