Danny Czerkawski on Recruiting Round Up Inside Lacrosse

Recruiting Roundup: UVA, Penn, Princeton, High Point, Delaware

Ty Xanders January 13th, 2011

This week, there are a few verbal commitments that we've been slacking on when it comes to getting around to posting them, so I'll go ahead and do that. Also got two relatively new verbals by kids to Ivies, including our #30 Young Gun junior. If you'd like to submit a verbal (we only take those by the player committing/coach/parent), make sure to email gshannon@insidelacrosse.com.

Jimmy Sestilio, G, Montclair (NJ) has verbally committed to Penn and their admissions process. The junior netminder stood out for Team New Jersey at the Under Armour underclass games, while also participating in both summer and fall Blue Chip, Top 205 and Brine Shootout, among others. Sestilio is a sound ball-stopper, who also appeared confident in the clearing game. He also considered Delaware, Ohio State, Loyola, Lehigh, Fairfield, Virginia and Dartmouth.

James Dahlheimer, M, Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) has commited to Virginia. The 6-foot, 195-pound athletic middie. He also considered Maryland, Syracuse, Ohio State, Georgetown and Air Force. Spent last season at Medina HS, where he picked up 2nd Team All-State honors after dropping 25 goals, 25 assists. Also a football standout. Dahlheimer dodges hard from up top and isn't afraid to run an opposing player over before unleashing a speedy shot. Plays with Cleveland-area Burning River Lacrosse Club. Also considered Maryland, Syracuse, Ohio State, Georgetown and Air Force.

Patric Berkery, M, Garden City (NY) has verbally committed to Penn and their admissions process, continuing the GC to UPenn pipeline. Standing out 5'11 and 180 pounds, Berkery has been one of the keys to the Trojans' potent offense since freshman year, picking up several offensive MVP honors in the playoffs this past season. He attended Blue Chip as a rising sophomore and junior and plays club with For the Love of the Game. Berkery also considered Duke, Princeton, Harvard and Penn State.

#30 Young Gun junior Max Susskind, M, St. Andrew's (FL) has committed to Princeton and their admissions process. The two-way speedster has an excellent two-handedness and picked up 23 points and 50 GB's, garnering FIrst Team All-State honors for the Scots. He also considered Cornell and Dartmouth, where his brother is a sophomore goalie. Check out Max's impressive highlight reel here

Danny Czerkawski, M, Landmark School (Mass.) has verbally committed to High Point (N.C.) for their first year of D1 lacrosse. The 5'8 all-purpose midfielder notched 34 goals thanks to a vicious shot, while also going 73% (222 wins) at the faceoff. Real tough in the GB game. He's part of a fantastic Laxachusetts 2012 team and also considered Fairfield, Vermont, Penn State and Delaware.

Colin Massa, D, Lambert (GA) committed to Delaware way back in September (sorry it took so long, buddy). A 6'4, 190-pound defenseman, Massa has great footwork and strength.
