Laxachusetts Youth Teams Recap of Legacy Invitational Tourney 2014

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laxachusetts Youth Teams at the Legacy Invitational Tournament
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laxheads,

The final tournament of the summer for our Laxachusetts Youth teams was the Legacy Invitational at Devens, MA with many of the Elite Clubs from around the country attending.

Our teams and players continued to improve each tourney and this was a terrific ending to an incredible season. Great competition, great weather and great facilities.

We received multiple emails from various club programs stating this was the most competitive tournament they had been to all year. We could not be more proud to host this event and even more importantly watch our players and team succeed on the field.

3rd Grade Division (2023)
This group of players faced some of the toughest competition anywhere in the country as 3rd graders while traveling to LI back 2 back weekends.
The 3rd grade division is very new to club lacrosse and most 3rd grade teams are from the Long Island area.
We had high expectations for this group and expected to be in the Championship game against the exceptional 91 Lacrosse 3rd grade team. Our team did not take the local competition seriously and expected to get easy wins. Great lesson for these young players that opposing local clubs get fired up to play the Laxachusetts teams and we are a team people get fired up to play (same we get fired up to play 91 Lax and LIE). Made it to the Semi Finals
Finished the tourney with 3rd place and 1-3-1 record

4th Grade Division (2022)

Black Team (AA)
First time this summer we made AA and A level teams at the 2022 level. All of the teams did great in both AA and A divisions.
The Black team went 3-0-1 in the opening round and earned the #1 seed going into the playoffs.
On Sunday they faced the #4 seed Patriots from NJ and moved onto the Championship with a 7-2 victory.
In the Championship we faced a very strong LIE Team (who we tied 4-4 in opening round on Saturday). LIE won the game 5-4 to take home the Legacy Trophy. Great weekend for our team and boys.
Finished the tourney in 2nd place with a 4-1-1 record

Green Team (A)
Our Green team did great as well but started out slow with game 1 and finished with a tie vs local club (skipjacks). Next up faced a very strong NE Storm team (That wont the championship) and lost 7-4. Had a convincing win over Team Superstar to end the day on Saturday.
Made it to the Semi Finals with the 3rd place seed and lost to Bradys Bunch (CA) 7-5.
Great weekend for our Green team.
Finished the tourney with a 2-2-1 record

White Team (A)
Our White team shared the same record on Saturday as the Green team with a 1-1-1 record. Lost 7-6 opening up the day on Saturday to finalist Brady's Bunch (CA) and then strong win over Team Superstar.
Made it to the Semi Finals with the #4 seed on Sunday. Battled on Sunday with the NE Storm (team that won championship) and we lost 7-5 in a great back and forth game.
Finished strong on Sunday.
Finished the tourney with a 2-2-1 record

5th Grade Division

Black Team (AA)
By far the best this team has played all summer. Maybe the toughest test for this team at the Legacy tourney and they responded incredibly.
Started off with a overwhelming victory over Team Superstar. Then another strong win over NH Tomahawks and finishing day against a very tough Eclipse team from CT.
Our team earned the #1 seed on Sunday and faced #4 seed Eclipse and won 9-5 to make it to the Championship Game. Once again, as we often do when we make it to the Championship games, we faced the LI Express. A defensive battle with LIE taking home the title with a 5-3 victory.
Finished the tourney with a 4-2-0 record and a 2nd place finish

Green Team (A)
Our 5th grade teams were incredibly strong across the board all summer and Legacy Invitational was no different. Three convincing wins over Primetime, NH Tomahawks , Skipjacks going 3-0 on the day.
Receiving the #2 seed in the Semi Finals, the Green team faced who else, another Long Express team. We always love playing LIE because that is how our players are going to get better. LIE got the W against us moving on to the title game.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1 record and 3rd place finish

White Team (A)
White team continued the 5th grade LXC domination with another 3-0 record on the day Saturday. Taking down Fed Lax, 128 Lax and Hooligan Lacrosse outscoring opponents by 37-7.
The White team received the #1 seed going into the Semi Finals on Sunday and faced the #4 seed NE Storm. With a 5-1 win over NE Storm moved our team into the Championship against the LI Express. In a hard fought battle, LIE got the title with a 6-3 win over us. Great job by all of our 5th grade players/teams.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1 record and 2nd place finish

6th Grade Division

Black Team (AA)
This team showed the most improved this summer going against tough opponents all summer. Defense and Goalie play has been exceptional this grade but we have not seen the scoring production we would have liked. The offense got clicking this weekend though which was great to see.
Outscoring opponents in first 2 games was exciting to see offense clicking 24-7. Had a defensive battle against the NH Tomahawks 5-5 and ended with another close game with a win over Team Super Star 7-6.
We received the #3 seed and faced a very tough LI Express team in the Semi Finals
as we lost 10-4.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1-1 record and 3rd place finish

Green Team (A)
Offensive burst in the 2 opening games with a 9-2 victory over NH Tomahawks and a 11-4 win over Skipjacks. Next up we faced a tough NE Storm club and dug in for a great 5-4 win.
With the 3-0 record on Saturday, the team received the #2 seed on Sunday on the Semi Finals
Facing the NE Storm in the semi's, our team made short work as we defeated the storm 8-3 and moved into the Championship Game. In the title game we faced the LI Express. The LI Express earned the title with a 9-6 win over our team.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1 record and 2nd place finish

White Team (A)
It is always tough when you have to begin a tourney facing the LI Express team. Our team played hard but the Express got the better of us with a 7-3 win. Up next we played a great game in a tough defensive style game with a 4-4 tie. Last game of the day was against a Fed Lax team and our boys got the offense rolling with a 11-0 victory.
We entered the Semi Finals as the #4 seed which was great news. Bad news is we had to once again face the LI Express. Express got the W with a 7-4 over us.
Finished the tourney with a 2-2-1 record and 3rd place finish

7th Grade Division

Black Team (AA)
This is a fun team to watch as they have incredible energy and excitement when they play. Just looking at the scores with a 11-2 win over CT Bulldogs, 13-1 win over Team Superstar and 10-3 over Patriot, this team can put up numbers and selfish on the defensive end of the field.
With the 3-0 performance on Saturday, they earned the #1 seed going into the Semi Finals on Sunday. Facing the #4 seed Warrior Elite and keeping things rolling with a 14-1 victory moving into the Championship. Once again one of our teams facing the LI Express in the Finals. Just as we always have battles with Express at all grades, this was no different. LIE got the win with a 7-5 victory.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1 record and 2nd place finish

Yellow Team (AA)
We are fortunate to have a deep 2019 class and create a second AA team to compete in this division. Although this team went 0-3 on Saturday, they faced some all high level teams. First up was a top LI club Dune Dawgs and lost 10-5. Next up was Leading Edge NJ and we lost a hard fought battle 5-4. Last up on the trifecta was LI Express and we lost 8-6. Three highly competitive clubs and our team did great job competing.
Finished Sunday going 2-0.
Finished the tourney with a 2-3 record

Green Team (A)
Our team got a big win over a solid NH Tomahawks 6-1 team and then battled for 2 tie games back 2 back to end Saturday with a 1-0-2 record. They missed making the semi finals by a point and earned 5th place on Sunday. Facing Team Superstar (one of the teams they tied on Saturday) on Sunday morning, TS got the win this time 5-4.
Finished the tourney with a 2-1-2 record

White Team (A)
Our team opened up against a tough NE Storm and lost 5-2. Up next team rolled over Prime Time 13-2 and 128 Lacrosse 18-1.
Ending Saturday with a 2-1 record earned our team a 3rd place seed in the Semi Finals on Sunday.
Facing the LI Express in the Semi Finals we battled back and forth but LIE finished on top with a 5-4 victory.
Finished the tourney with a 3-2 record and 4th place finish

8th Grade Division

Black Team (AA)
All of our 8th grade teams have had a fantastic summer winning most of our games at all of the tournaments we attended. A championship has been missing from the Black team this summer and boys were hungry to get one.
The boys were impressive on Saturday with wins over Team Superstar, LB3 Atlanta, 91 Lax, and Warrior Elite outscoring opponents 48-16.
Our team was the #1 seed on Sunday in the Semi Finals and faced the #4 seed Leading Edge (NJ) 9-8 (OT) in Semi Finals.
Our team played the Patriot team from NJ in the Championship Game and the Black team finally took home a Title with a 10-6 victory.
Finished the tourney with a 6-0 record and 8th Grade AA Champion

Yellow Team (AA)
Much like the 7th grade division, this is another very deep and talented class and we are able to have 2 teams competing at the AA division.
The team also finished with an outstanding 3-0 record on Saturday defeating 3 great teams Patriot (NJ) 6-5, LB3 Atlanta 10-9, and Team MN 10-3. These are 3 great wins and locked our team with the 2nd seed for the Sunday Semi Finals
On Sunday we faced the Patriot team again but this time Patriot got the W with a 6-3 win.
Finished the tourney with a 4-1 record and 3rd place finish

Green Team (A)
The 8th grade green team had a great day on Saturday with a victory over Brady Bunch (CA) 8-4, a win over Eclipse (CT) 6-5, and a tie game against Little Necks 7-7. Our team received the 4th place seed and we were matched up against the Laxachusetts White team in the Semi Finals. Laxachusetts White got the W in a hard fought match. Our team finished strong on Sunday and finished in 3rd place.
Finished the tourney with a 3-1-1 record and 3rd place finish

White Team (A)
Another great day for our 8th grade group with this team going 3-0 on the day with wins over Hooligans (NH), Fed Lax 9-0, and NH Tomahawks 13-3. With a strong performance on Saturday, the team headed into the Semi Finals and received the #1 seed and played the #4 seed Laxachusetts White team and earned the victory and headed to the Championship
In the Championship we defeated the Skipjacks 10-5 and took home another Title !
Finished Tourney with a 5-0 record and 8th Grade A Champion

Laxachusetts overall record at Legacy Invitational:
56 wins, 25 losses, 9 ties
16 Teams made it to the Semi Finals
7 Teams made it to the Championship
2 Teams won a Championship Title

We want to thank all of the parents for a wonderful year and a great summer. We realize it is not easy to travel out of state to play in events but as you can see from all of the tournaments we attend and we are playing against the best club programs in the country, playing against the best only makes you better and we need to compete outside of Massachusetts to get better and prepare our players for playing at a higher level.
Our design and mission is to offer the best training, coaching, and competition for the kids. Everything is about making all of our kids better.

We hope everyone has a great summer and looking forward to seeing all of the players at the call back tryouts.

Best
